In the thermal system, the thermal trap plays a very important role, and its performance directly affects the stability and energy efficiency of the steam system. As the key equipment in the steam system, the thermal trap can not only automatically remove condensate, prevent the occurrence of water hammer phenomenon, but also effectively prevent the leakage of steam to ensure the purity of steam and the continuous and efficient operation of the system.
Installation error
Problem description: The mechanical trap should be installed horizontally, the bimetal trap is horizontal in principle but can be installed vertically, and the disc trap is installed at a flexible Angle. Failure to comply with installation requirements, such as the installation direction is wrong or not used with the bypass pipe, will cause the float ball and valve nozzle seal.
Solution: Strictly follow the installation instructions provided by the valve manufacturer and the marked installation direction to ensure that the trap is easy to repair and replace.
Improper selection
Problem description: The selection did not fully consider the working condition, with the pipe diameter as the standard, and did not strictly follow the principle of trap capacity = capacity of steam equipment * safety rate.
Solution: According to the capacity of the steam using equipment, combined with the appropriate safety rate, the accurate calculation and selection of the appropriate trap type to ensure the stable operation of the system.
Fouling or blockage of impurities
Problem description: Some trap design does not consider the filtration function, after long-term use, impurities and scale block the exhaust hole or drainage hole, affecting the condensate discharge.
Solution: Choose trap with built-in filter to reduce the accumulation of impurities and scale and ensure smooth drainage.
The internal parts of the trap are damaged
Description of the problem: Internal components such as the float ball, valve nozzle, and capsule are damaged by water hammer, wear, and corrosion, resulting in leakage of the trap.
Solution: Choose a trap with a waterproof strike, flexible closing system and built-in filter to reduce the risk of internal damage and extend service life.
Maintenance mismanagement
Problem description: Improper maintenance habits, such as opening bypass valves for a long time and ignoring trap leak detection, can lead to steam waste and reduced system efficiency.
Solution: Avoid opening the bypass valve for a long time, regularly use the infrared thermometer to detect the temperature before and after the trap, and find and deal with the leakage problem in time.
